Pick what went wrong and where you’re up to. We’ll tell you who to complain to, how long they get, how long you have afterwards — and when no ombudsman exists, we’ll say so and tell you what does.
Where do I start?
Two questions. We’ll tell you who to complain to, how long they get, and how long you have afterwards.
No sign-up. We don’t keep your answers, and nothing you type leaves your device.
Why we built this
There are more than sixty redress schemes in the UK and no single front door. Which one covers you decides who you write to, how long they get, and how long you have — and getting it wrong wastes months. For some problems no scheme exists at all, and we would rather tell you that plainly than route you somewhere useless.
Every answer ends in a next step, and the next step is always free. If you’d rather read the whole process first, start with how complaining works, start to finish.
Nothing you pick here is sent anywhere or stored. The answers come from the schemes’ own rules — the FCA’s complaint-handling rules, Ofcom’s approved schemes, and each ombudsman’s published process — checked against the source, with dates, on the guides we link to.
