Complaint stories are how this site can really help other. What you sent, what they said back, what actually worked.
What we’re looking for
Real complaints, at any stage. The refusal letter with the odd wording. The bank that paid out the day the ombudsman wrote to them. The claim that worked because of one sentence. The complaint that failed and taught you what went wrong. Wins are useful; losses are often more useful, because they show where the process actually bites.
Rough is fine. You are not writing an article. A few sentences and the company’s name is enough to start.
What happens when you press send
A person reads it. If your story fits something we’re working on, we’ll email you, and we may ask to see the paperwork: the letters, the final response, the dates. That checking step is the whole reason reader cases here are worth reading, so we won’t skip it.
Nothing is published without your say-so. You choose on the form: first name, anonymised, or background only. Background means it informs what we write and never appears itself. You can change your mind at any point before publication by replying to any email from us.
Tell us what happened
No sign-up and nothing to pay. We only email about your story, and if we haven’t used it within six months, we delete it.
Common questions
Will you name the company?
Usually, yes. How companies handle complaints is the story, and we publish what we can evidence and stand behind. It’s you who is never named without permission.
Do you pay for stories?
No. Nothing on this site is paid for. That’s what keeps it worth reading.
Can you take on my complaint for me?
No, we’re a publication, not a claims firm, and we never handle claims. What we can do is show you exactly how to run it yourself: start with how complaining works, or find your scheme.
The small print. We store what you type and your email so we can verify the story with you, and for nothing else. We never sell or share it. If we haven’t used your story within six months, it’s deleted automatically, and if you want it gone sooner, email us and it will be.
